$100...huh?

Date: 2012-03-27, 1:16AM PDT

Anyone else find it funny that even when the posts aren't the typical no pay, get exposure, copy credit meal, they still only want to offer $100? Work a 12 hr day on set...$100. Edit my 20 minute short film...$100. need awesome visual effects and explosions....$100.

It just seems that if they hit that triple digits they will find someone and sure, $100 for a green PA is semi-decent...not legal.... but hey, it's Craigslist!!!

Just think it's funny how many $100 offers are out there -

(To those offering $100 I am extremely grateful you are at least willing to offer something, as opposed to the rest of the wannabes that don't even mention a gas stipend!!!)

Location: Lalaland
Compensation: $100 equals be happy they didn't just say 'no pay'

RE: Still Photographer

Date: 2012-03-20, 3:56PM PDT

LOL. How about you come and mow my lawn, scrub my toilets, paint my house for exposure first.

Do you think photographers are slaves that will work for you for free?

If you are still an 'up and coming' t-shirt company, you're obviously not Hermes, Gucci, LV or anyone that can offer real exposure.

You're running a business. PAY YOUR WORKERS.

Stop spamming for free labor on craigslist.

Still Photographer (Los Angeles, CA)

Date: 2012-03-20, 3:33PM PDT

We're looking for a talented photographer to shoot product shots/models for an up and coming, celebrity backed T-shirt company. The style will be film noir-ish while at the same time extremely sexy.

The shoot will take place April 14, 15, (Sat, Sun).

Please submit samples of your work and contact info.

No pay, but great exposure for your work.

100 Plus A Day

Date: 2012-03-07, 8:07AM PST

The Craigslist posters act as though copy credit meal is some kind of favor they are doing for us.

The reality is that what the are offers is worthless.

To add to this the have the never to make demands of a crew they expect to work for them for free

How many times have you heard this

Its becoming more obvious that only legal action will teach these people a lesson

The great thing is that you have up to 3 YEARS to file a claim so this maybe great for all the dead beats you have worked for in the past that did not pay you. The Link is as follows

Compensation: 100 or more a day

To all the Posters

Date: 2012-03-06, 9:57PM PST

So you need a PROFESSIONAL - (pick your category) Editor, Composer, Director, Sound Mixer, Sound Designer, whatever.
And you want to offer deferred pay, backend points, or a paid gig next month on your short film, web episode or pilot?

Well tell my bank, my credit company or the grocery store that I'll be getting that money (right??) some time soon.

If you can make a film, then pay the people who help you do it! If not then go F**K yourself!

Re: To the Posters (LA)

Amen brother!!!

And just a reminder to all producers and crew - minimum wage in the state of California is $112/12. And after 12 hrs, it becomes $16/hr, meaning it's $128/13, $144/14, etc....

I know we all need to work and to pay our bills, but accepting anything less than minimum wage hurts us all. Stick together and hold your ground! Send a strong message to production that if they don't have the money to pay ALL of their crew at least a legal wage, then they don't have the money to make a movie!

Compensation: Min Wage or else!
